You may have noticed the not-so-subtle nautical theme on this site.  I believe that rivers and oceans give us great metaphors and insights for life.  Experiences, emotions, sensations and events come at you in waves.  Sometimes they are gentle swells, sometimes the waters are choppy, and then other times you get hit by a tsunami!

“You can’t stop
the waves,
but you can learn
to surf.”

~Jon Kabat Zinn

I believe that therapy and personal growth happen best when we accept that waves and currents are a natural part of life on this planet. How we interpret and interact with them makes all the difference.  When we can allow the ebb and flow without resisting, repressing, denying, distracting or escaping through unhealthy patterns or habits, we are free to explore our options, make healthy choices and commit to meaningful change.
My approach to therapy is holistic, integrating mind, body and spirit.   In our sessions, we will address what's on your mind, but also pay attention to the wisdom and healing potential your body provides.   I support my clients in practices such as self-compassion, healthy boundaries and soulfulness in daily life.  My theoretical framework is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy with trauma-informed, somatic awareness.

Special Interests
I am a perpetual student, always learning, researching and expanding my knowledge and wisdom.  I'm currently studying and gaining experience with embodied wellness approaches including Somatic Experiencing, Hakomi and Bioenergetics.

Additionally, I have developed an affinity for working with spiritual seekers and those who may be refining, questioning, deconstructing or reconstructing their faith orientation.  I welcome clients of any faith orientation, and feel privileged to hold space for these sacred explorations.

“The wave is the signature of every experience of life.
By understanding the nature of waves and their characteristics,
and applying that understanding to our lives,
we can navigate life with a little more grace.”
